CGE Modeling Pathway
Build economy-wide policy modeling skills from GTAP/GEMPACK and optimization through GAMS, advanced CGE and policy simulation.
GEM Executive Diploma — a compact, live-online pathway covering CGE with GTAP/GEMPACK, optimization and GAMS, CGE in GAMS, advanced GTAP/CGE with R, DSGE, advanced DSGE methods, and AI applications in forecasting and economic modeling.
Watch the introductory video to learn about the program, its modeling pathway and how the training connects CGE, DSGE and applied economic research.
The GEM program combines CGE and DSGE training with practical software work and, in the latest version, AI applications for forecasting, CGE and DSGE modeling. The program is designed for economists, policymakers, researchers and analysts.
Build a strong foundation in CGE theory, GTAP/GEMPACK, GAMS, calibration, closures, aggregation and policy simulations.
Move from New Keynesian and small-open-economy models to estimation, Bayesian methods, Kalman filtering and MCMC.
Use generative AI, Python, GAMS, Dynare and MATLAB to improve research, forecasting, coding and policy-analysis workflows.
The current program page lists seven modules, with individual modules also available separately.
Live-training examples, including GTAP shocks, GAMS/CGE simulation, dynamic GTAP and DSGE methods.
