1. Platform Overview

M&S Research Hub ("MSR") operates SAMBase, a proprietary database of Social Accounting Matrices (SAMs) and related socioeconomic datasets. SAMBase data is available through tiered licensing agreements tailored to 3 different user needs (Single user/Academic-Research Organization/Government).


2. Acceptance & Modifications

By accessing SAMBase, you agree to these binding Terms. We may update these Terms; continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Regularly check for updates.


3. Licensing & Permitted Use

  • Data is not open accessand requires a paid license. Fees vary by user type (see [License Options]).

  • Use is restricted to the license tier purchased(e.g., Single user/Academic-Research Organization/Government redistribution).

  • Prohibited:

  • Re-identifying individuals/organizations.
  • Redistributing data beyond licensed scope.
  • Reverse engineering or creating derivative works without permission.

4. Intellectual Property

  • MSR owns all SAMBase content, including datasets, metadata, and platform code.
  • Third-party data (if applicable) may have additional restrictions; users are solely responsible for compliance.

5. Attribution

Publications must cite:

M&S Research Hub. [2025]. [Country Name_SAMBase]. Kassel, Germany: SAMBase. Licensed under [License ID].


6. Fees & Payments

  • License fees are non-refundable.
  • Unpaid access constitutes breach of contract and may lead to legal action.

7. Data Disclaimer

  • IFPRI will not be responsible or held accountable for any interpretations or conclusions that users may arrive from the use of dataset or materials available on the Site.
  • MSR is not liable for indirect, consequential, or misuse-related damages.

8. Termination

MSR may suspend access for:

  • License violations.
  • Unauthorized sharing or misuse.
  • Non-payment.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by German law. Disputes will be resolved in Kassel, Germany.
